How Do You Preserve Your Favourite Photos?

I have a collection of family pictures and travel memories that I’d love to keep in a printed format instead of leaving everything on my phone. I’m considering photo book printing, but I’m unsure about the best paper quality, binding, and cover options. Has anyone created one recently? I’d love to hear which choices made the pictures look better.
