House committee approves tax portion of GOP budget plan, including potential Medicaid, SNAP cuts

Three congressional committees met for hearings on portions of the Republican budget package. The House Ways and Means Committee wrapped up debate and approved the tax portion of the bill, which includes proposals for state and local tax deductions and cuts to Medicaid.
