Military Kills Boko Haram Second-In-Command In Sambisa Forest

Reliable military sources told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that one of the insurgents neutralised was Abu Khalid, identified as the second-in-command of the terrorist group operating within the Sambisa Forest.

The Nigerian military has achieved a major operational success by killing a top Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) commander during ongoing clearance operations in the North-East.

Reliable military sources told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that one of the insurgents neutralised was Abu Khalid, identified as the second-in-command of the terrorist group operating within the Sambisa Forest.

According to NAN, The sources said Abu Khalid was a key figure in Boko Haram’s command and control structure, and his death represents a major setback to terrorist activities in the notorious forest enclave.

According to the military, the slain commander played a critical role in coordinating attacks, managing logistics, and directing the movement of fighters across parts of the North-East, making his neutralisation a significant boost to ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the current operations until all terrorist elements are completely eliminated, while urging remaining insurgents to lay down their arms and embrace peace.
